MCAP™ Clinical Review Criteria Training
Training
To assure proper application of the
MCAP Systems,
The Oak Group
provides reviewers training in both the logic underlying the
MCAP Criteria
and in the process of application. To best accommodate our clients' needs with the least amount of workflow intrusion, we offer a variety of training modules, including on-site, in-house and web-based.
Both clinical and technical support is available by phone during normal business hours.
Initial Training
The initial training requirements of the facility are evaluated by The Oak Group. Generally, for new clients, an initial on-site two day training program is required. This training prepares reviewers to interpret and apply the criteria correctly.
Follow-up Training
Follow-up training is performed after reviewers have begun using the MCAP System. Follow-up training and consultation of staff applying the criteria ensures proper application of the MCAP System.
Reliability Testing
Following each annual training session, we measure assimilation of the training material through reliability testing. We then utilize the test results to customize subsequent refresher training sessions. The Oak Group staff scores the reliability test and sends a report to client administrators. Certification requires a score of 80% or greater, and reviewers who score less than 80% receive additional training before retesting.
Update Training
Subsequent to the annual criteria release for existing clients, The Oak Group provides an orientation course for previously trained users. The goal of this training is to reinforce proper and consistent application of the MCAP System, as well as to update users on any changes made in the MCAP Criteria.
